The Disneylandian uses more than pictures and words,
it incorporates sounds, movies and the occasional
animation. These files are stored in a few select
formats and you need different tools to access them.
This page will help you with those tools.
Quicktime Movies & Quicktime
VR:
All
of the movies have been created and saved in the
Quicktime 3.0 format. They have been
encoded with the Sorenson codec. You must
have Quicktime 6.0 or greater installed on your
computer in order to watch these movies. Quicktime
6.0 is the newest version from Apple Computer.
The installer will install all of the necessary
software to play Quicktime movies on you computer
and the proper plug in for your Browser. To
get Quicktime 6.0 go to
http://www.apple.com
and download the correct 5.0 version for your computer
and operating system.
Sound: MPEG 2
All
of the sound files are stored as MPEG Lawyer 2 audio.
The MPEG audio settings and numbers seem confusing.
You have probably heard of MPEG 3 or mp3 files.
This is kinda like that. In fact all MPEG
3 players can play MPEG 2 files, so compatibility
is really easy. I explored MPEG 3 but it just
is to limited at this time. Again Quicktime
6.0 loaded on your computer and the Quicktime 6.0
plug-in (included with the download) will play these
files for, even stream them if your connection is
reliable.
Sound: Quicktime Audio
This
is another form of audio available on the Disneylandian.
In order to listen to these files you need to get
the same software as for Quicktime 6.0 movies.
This format will stream over the net
Sound: Midi
Some
of the music files are actually midi files.
Again These files are not sounds but actually instructions
for a midi player to use in order to recreate the
songs using midi instruments build into your computer.
In order to hear these files you need a midi Player.
This is handled by the Quicktime 6.0 plug in, so
please get it. There are a variety of other
plug-ins and applications you can use.
Sound: RA, RAM Real Audio:
These are Real Audio files.
You need Real Networks real audio player.
These files have for the most part been changed
into MPEG 2 files but a few files simply where not
able to be changed and they survive as RA files.
To get the player and the plug in go to:
